IS THIS TIME
This artwork represents a reflection on the concept of time by challenging traditional clock mechanisms and inviting viewers to reconsider their own notions of time. First and foremost, the absence of hour and minute hands signifies a radical departure from the conventional way we measure and structure time. This underscores the idea that time does not necessarily have to be defined by precise, linear units, but rather it is a subjective and abstract experience.
The sixty second hands, rotating synchronously, lend the piece a certain symmetry and regularity that is nonetheless interrupted by the continuous movement of the hands. This repetitive movement serves as a reminder that time is a constantly flowing process that undergoes continuous change.
The impossibility of reading the “correct” time emphasizes the relativity and subjectivity of time. Viewers are invited to reflect on their own perception of time and recognize that they do not always have to be bound by strict time measurements, but rather that time is a multifaceted and complex dimension of our existence.
This artwork invites viewers to question and explore the concepts of time, measurement, and perception. It encourages introspective reflection on our relationship with time and challenges us to reconsider our notions of timelessness and continuity.
